IGNOU BAG Syllabus – Latest and Revised Syllabus
The IGNOU offers a Bachelor of Arts Degree (BAG) with a selection of disciplines. Upon enrolling, students must choose two disciplines from the first semester. These disciplines include:

Once the disciplines are chosen, students are required to take Core Courses and Discipline Specific Elective Courses exclusively from their selected disciplines throughout all subsequent semesters.
The program, totaling 132 credits, is structured into various course categories. Each category comprises a list of courses from different disciplines. These categories are:
- Core Courses (CC): Fundamental courses in the chosen disciplines, providing foundational knowledge and skills.
- Discipline Specific Electives (DSE): Advanced courses within the chosen disciplines, allowing for deeper exploration and specialization.
- Ability Enhancement Compulsory Courses (AECC): Courses designed to enhance essential abilities like communication skills and environmental science.
- Skill Enhancement Courses (SEC): Courses focused on developing practical skills relevant to the workplace and everyday life.
- Generic Electives (GE): Elective courses that offer a broader educational experience, which may include subjects outside the chosen disciplines.
Students must complete the required number of credits in each category to fulfill the degree requirements. The combination of these courses ensures a well-rounded education, balancing depth in specific fields with a broad base of general knowledge and skills.
